The whole process was very well done, could not fault...
The sensitive manner shown made it so much easier to cope on the day. Any requests were enabled without a problem. Huge thank you to Yvonne at Albany Creek for her caring and attention. Would not hesitate to recommend George Hartnett Metropolitan Funerals.
Jacinta had such a loving and understanding persona during such a terribly hard time for our family.

Funeral Director - Albany Creek
Yvonne joined the funeral industry in March 2022, bringing with her a deep sense of compassion and purpose.
Originally from the UK, she made Australia her home in 2004 and has since developed strong connections within her local community.
Her passion for funeral arranging began at a young age, shaped by the heartbreaking loss of her niece at just 10 years old. This experience inspired Yvonne’s desire to support families through some of life’s most difficult moments, guiding them with empathy and care.
“I love helping families during this challenging time in their lives,” Yvonne shares. “Being able to work within my local community is incredibly meaningful, and supporting people through their grief with compassion is what I find most rewarding.”
Outside of work, Yvonne enjoys staying active at the gym and spending time outdoors walking her two beloved Staffordshire Bull Terriers Chloe and Spike. She also takes great pleasure in supporting local businesses and exploring the vibrant restaurant scene in her community.
What do you like about being a funeral arranger?
Supporting families at their most vulnerable time. I value being someone families can rely on during one of the hardest times in their lives. Being able to guide them calmly, clearly and with compassion makes a real difference to how they experience grief in those early days.
What do you like about your local area?
A strong sense of community. I live and work in Albany Creek, and it feels like a place where people still know one another, look out for each other, and genuinely care. There’s a strong sense of community here, particularly during times when support matters most.
What makes your brand special?
A calm, welcoming environment. Families often comment on how comfortable and reassuring my branch feels. It’s a space where people can slow down, feel supported, and make decisions without pressure.
What inspired you to work in funeral planning?
For me, it became deeply personal. I was inspired to work in funeral planning after the unexpected passing of my niece, Katie. Our family was suddenly faced with navigating something none of us were prepared for, and during that time the support of a compassionate funeral director made an enormous difference. Seeing how much care, calm and guidance they provided at such a raw moment stayed with me.
That experience showed me how important it is to have someone who can walk alongside families—not just to organise details, but to truly listen, advocate for their wishes, and help create a farewell that feels meaningful and respectful. I realised I wanted to be that person for others.
Funeral planning allows me to help families at one of the most vulnerable times in their lives, and it’s incredibly rewarding to be able to ease their burden, even just a little, and help honour a life well lived."
How do you and your team support families at such an important time? We support families by listening carefully, offering calm guidance, and taking the time to explain options clearly and compassionately. Our team works together to ensure families feel supported, respected, and confident that their loved one is being cared for with dignity throughout the entire process.
What gives you strength in this work?
What gives me strength in this work is knowing I can make a real difference for families during one of the hardest times in their lives. Being able to offer comfort, guidance and genuine care, and to help families feel supported and confident in the farewell they create, is deeply meaningful and sustaining for me.
